MEXICO DC, La Jornada 14/01/2010 - Edition ACPress.net Religious intolerance continues to generate violence in Mexico, especially in the state of Chiapas. On Wednesday, some 200 indigenous Catholic community of Los Llanos destroyed 13 homes of Protestant families who refuse to cooperate to hold traditional religious festivals. The attacking group began tearing down the homes of indigenous evangelical on Wednesday 13 January, leaving homeless more than 50 people, including several children, who spent the night outdoors in the intense cold of the area. Radical Catholics were led by the Ejido Commissariat, Jesus Perez-Diaz, the agent Municipal Manuel Pérez Díaz, Alejandro Gómez Díaz of the Supervisory Board and the catechist Teltuc Domingo Diaz.
Pastor Esdras Alonso Gonzalez denounced this new case of violence against those who defend their faith in Christ, and reported that the victims filed a criminal complaint. Gonzalez recalled that the destruction of a temple in the name Alas de Aguila, last May, remains unpunished. He warned that the parishioners of the congregation will not leave the community, located about 25 kilometers from San Cristobal. For his part, Pastor Alejandro Cruz Ton, Church of Eagle Wings, confirmed that preliminary investigation arose number 166/2009 for the destruction of the evangelical church, but that "the authorities have done nothing about it."

Pastor Esdras Alonso said that Catholics are sympathetic to the EZLN, a group that told the community of Los Llanos as an "autonomous municipality" so that evangelical Christians are forced to renounce their religious beliefs, support the Zapatistas and contribute economically to carry out acts of rebellion against the Federal and State Government.
"The perpetrators are a radical group called the Other Campaign, have also beaten sometimes to our brothers and Chilil Mitzitón, Huixtan municipality, which has experienced power outages and water, expulsion and death threats," the pastor .
ALSO IN LLANITOS Meanwhile, evangelicals in the community of Los Llanitos, Teopisca Township, reported that two of his comrades were held by Catholics on Tuesday afternoon for refusing to pay assessments for traditional holidays.
The pastor and lawyer Jaime ADBI Tovilla revealed that the detainees are Abel Molina Vazquez and Roman Gomez Vazquez.
This episode joins the long list of instances of intolerance and religious discrimination in Chiapas, where authorities have been exceeded and continue with its policy to prevent cases from reaching the public prosecutor, as systematically conceal the violation of human rights of non-Catholics.
