CONTA PERSECUTION Evangelicals Religious conflict in the village of San Gregorio was exacerbated last year when three Protestant families were expelled for refusing to cooperate with the Catholic celebrations. One issue that is not economic for indigenous evangelical, but freedom of conscience, they do not believe right to cooperate with celebrations that go against their faith, both for the worship of images as by the widespread and excessive use of alcohol occurs in the celebrations.
CHANGE OF ATTITUDE Until now the evangelicals suffering the insults, attacks and expulsion from their land. But this situation is an escalation of violence, even in self-defense, which until now had not been produced. An evangelical leader who requested anonymity said the protesters "are tired of so much aggression on the part of Catholics, and had to answer, there is no other way out." He did not know if the side of the evangelicals was injured.
For four months one hundred evangelical conflicts facing various communities hold a camp before the prosecution of justice in Mexico City to demand respect for freedom of worship. Catholic and civil authorities is maintained regardless of the situation, unless asking for statements and actions timid peace.
